Last month, local IB organisations My Pads, Stimulus, Bucklesbury and RCSR, took part in a week long learning event on Social Entrepreneurship with other organisations from Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
The event forms part of SNV's global initiative entitled "LEAP+" which targets 150 leaders of private and civil organisations in 19 SNV countries who currently offer development services.
The IB Forum of Zimbabwe was invited to the Closing Session to engage with the participants to discover what they have gained and plan to do over the next 4 months, when they will be supported by coaching and mentoring from a professional coach and some Senior SNV advisors.
A summary of LEAP+ is provided below.
SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is pleased to announce the launch of its Leadership Enhancement Action Programme (LEAP+) targeting local development organisations and social enterprises that provide capacity building or business development support to other local development actors. Through this leadership programme, SNV offers to leaders of these organisations and enterprises an opportunity to strengthen leadership competencies related to market positioning and overall sustainability. The core of this Leadership Programme is focused on developing the participants’ business management skills. It is about the ability to develop a sound business case; to lead a sustainable business; improve products and services that contribute to pro-poor development and increase access to basic services, employment opportunities and income.
